Government of Jharkhand | District Development Authority
Empowering rural communities through sustainable development, infrastructure growth, and inclusive governance across Chatra district.
Zila Parishad Chatra is the apex body for rural local self-government in Chatra district of Jharkhand. Established as part of the three-tier Panchayati Raj system, we coordinate and supervise the activities of all Panchayat Samitis and Gram Panchayats within the district.
We work as a bridge between the state government and grassroots institutions, facilitating decentralized planning, resource allocation, and community participation in developmental activities. Our focus areas include infrastructure development, education, healthcare, water resources, agriculture, and social welfare programs.
To transform Chatra into a model district where every village has access to quality infrastructure, education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihood opportunities, ensuring dignified living for all rural citizens.
Strengthen grassroots democracy through active community participation, transparent governance, and efficient implementation of developmental schemes that promote inclusive growth and social equity across all Panchayats.
Chatra was carved out as a separate district from Hazaribagh. Zila Parishad Chatra was established to oversee rural development and coordinate Panchayati Raj institutions.
With the creation of Jharkhand state, Zila Parishad Chatra gained renewed focus on tribal welfare, forest conservation, and sustainable agriculture practices.
Introduction of e-governance systems for transparent service delivery, online grievance redressal, and digital record-keeping of all Panchayat activities.
Alignment of district development plans with UN SDGs, focusing on zero hunger, quality education, clean water, and climate action.
